Course Description

As one of the renewable energy resources, geothermal energy is hugely applied to power human being by converting it into electricity. Revealing the "size" of geothermal energy beneath the earth or understanding how much the amount of resource is crucial for the development stage and whether or not the prospect is feasible to be furtherly developed. However, assessing geothermal resources required multidiscipline approach of subsurface knowledge, such as geology, geophysics, geochemistry, and reservoir engineering. Hence, this course will cover some methods of geothermal resource assessment including the best practices used in the industry, especially at exploration stage. The course is also going to introduce resource assessment tools produced by AILIMA in JIWA Cloud Computing System, which are JIWA Power Density and JIWA Volumetric. After completing upon the course, you're expected to understand the concept of geothermal resource assessment, various methods have been used in the industry, and getting exposure from the real study cases in the developed fields in Indonesia and worldwide.
